IntroductionInspired by the true story of Jared Fogle, a 22-year old college student who lost 245 pounds by eating only a turkey sub and chips and a veggie sub every day for a year, I decided to research things a bit further.The Subway web site contains lots of information about the nutritional content of its many sandwiches. It was here that I was able to examine Jared's sandwich choices and make some personal choices, based on the difference of my situation versus his. Jared wanted to lose 245 pounds. My entire body weight is less than that. So clearly I don't have to be as extreme. However, I've decided that I don't like having to haul the extra 25-pound bowling ball that is my gut. Jared ate the following every day for a year:
